Doodle 4 Google

Encourage your Kid and Fill the Entry for Doodle 4 Google..

Doodle 4 Google is a competition where we invite K-12 students to reinvent Google's homepage logo. Both our country and our world are undergoing significant change and this year we invited students to doodle around the theme "What I Wish for the World". At Google we believe in thinking big, and dreaming big, and we can't think of anything more important than encouraging students to do the same.

Usage Policy Of Airtel fair / Unfair

Unfair Usage Policy of Airtrel.

Airtel Fair Usage Policy. It’s the latest nightmare for user… The Customer.

The latest news from the India Broadband Forum is that Airtel has now set a limit on their unlimited data transfer plans.

Reports say that the limits have been put in place from February 7.

Forum sources, the limit on their unlimited plans are as under:

128 kbps = 10 GB download limit per month
256 kbps = 15 GB download limit per month
384 kbps = 20 GB download limit per month
512 kbps = 25 GB download limit per month
1 Mbps = 150 GB download limit per month

Some Airtel users have confirmed that their speeds have been reduced to almost half of what their package promises.

Even my own Broadband speed has come to half i.e. 128 Kbps.
When I have contacted to the customer service center they have no answer why the Airtel has put this quota.

I would like the other user to switch services to Railwire which is providing good service and half the price of Airtel.

Install Windows XP on a Vista-ready machine

Virtually every new PC being sold today includes Windows Vista. However, Vista has not exactly been well received by the IT community. So what happens if you have a machine with Vista on it, but you really want to run Windows XP instead?

The answer depends on whether there is anything on the Vista PC that you want to preserve. Some steps in the downgrade process are the same regardless of whether or not you need to preserve any data. But if you need to preserve data off your hard drive, you'll have to run some other steps that are unique to the process.

Locate the necessary drivers

Once you have procured a copy of Windows XP, the next step is to track down Windows XP-compatible device drivers for the computer(s) that you're downgrading. Some manufacturers only offer Vista-compatible drivers, but fortunately this seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

The one area where you might run into problems is when it comes to x64 drivers for Windows XP. Even when Windows XP was in its heyday, 64-bit drivers could be a bit hard to come by. Today, the situation is a little better because every new computer being produced has a 64-bit processor.

Create a backup
If you have data that you need to preserve or you're planning on blanking your hard drive, I recommend creating a full system state backup before you begin the downgrade process. That way, you will have something to fall back on should the process go belly up.

Although creating a system state backup seems self-explanatory, there is one thing that you need to think about. The version of NTBACKUP that comes with Windows Vista is not compatible with Windows XP. This is a big deal if you're planning on blanking your hard drive, because if you need to restore the backup you can always install Vista and then perform the restoration.

If you do have data that you need to preserve, use a third-party backup program so you can restore your data to Windows XP if something should go wrong later on. If you do not have a third-party backup program, then one option is to perform a file level copy of your data. You won't be able to perform a full-blown operating system restoration from the file level copy, but you can at least get your data back.

The downgrade process

Once you have all your ducks in a row, it's time to perform the downgrade. If you're planning to format your hard drive and then install a fresh copy of Windows XP, there's nothing special you need to know. If you're trying to perform the process without formatting your hard drive, you've got your work cut out for you.
Windows Setup will not allow you to perform a downgrade if a newer version of Windows is already installed on the system. Therefore, the trick to performing a downgrade is to make Setup think that no operating system is installed. I explain how to accomplish that below. Once that's done, you can install a clean copy of Windows XP and then manually remove Windows Vista. Keep in mind that the method I'm about to show you performs a clean install, so you will have to reinstall any applications that might be present on your system and manually copy all of your data to the desired locations.

With that in mind, insert the Windows XP installation CD and boot to the Recovery Console. Once you arrive at the command prompt, enter the following commands:
Fixboot
Fixmbr
Cd\
Ren Windows Vista
Exit

The first two commands overwrite the hard drive's boot sector, which tricks Setup into thinking that Windows XP was previously installed. The third command drops you down to the root directory and the fourth renames the Windows folder to Vista.
Once you have performed these commands, you should be able to boot Windows XP Setup and install Windows XP. When the setup process has completed, you can delete the Vista folder from your hard drive.

Recession-Proof Yourself

Start by not taking your job lightly. Employees have long had the upper hand in organizations. They've been naming their hours, salary, and title. During a recession, your boss is in the driver's seat, and you'll have to reapply for your job every day.

How? Pay attention to things that tick him or her off, such as showing up late, calling in sick, or doing shoddy work. Each day, focus on what you're giving, not what you're getting. And do the opposite of what others are doing. When your coworkers are dragging, hustle. When everyone's complaining, smile like you've just found the Hope Diamond. Be stronger, tougher, and more positive, and you'll stand out above the crowd

Google Launches Video Chat on GMAIL

Today Google introduced a major new feature to the chatting program that's embedded within Gmail. Gmail users can now expand their chats to include live audio and video of their contacts.

Standalone chat programs such as AIM and Yahoo IM have offered voice and video chat for years. None of the major Web mail clients offer video chatting capabilities from within the e-mail program itself, however. Rather, you have to sign in to the standalone clients for video chat. Gmail's chat application integrates some of the basic features found in third-party chat programs, but has yet to deploy more advanced functions. No longer.

Google is now offering browser-based voice and video chat as an extension to Web mail and instant messaging, giving users a range of communication methods for reaching out to their contacts, be it via e-mail, instant message, voice, or video.

Google says:
To get started, open a Gmail chat window, click on the "Options" menu at the bottom, and choose "Add voice/video chat," which will walk you through the installation of a free plug-in (a 2-MB download). When you re-open Gmail you'll notice your "Options" link in your chat window has changed to "Video & more." Open this menu and click "Start video chat" to see and hear your partner in high-quality video. You can pop out the video and change its size and position, or switch to full screen.
Google is rolling out the new feature over the next day or so, on both Macs and PCs. Google Apps customers get this service as well, at no extra charge, and can video chat with any other Gmail or Apps users. In order to use the video or voice chat, PC users will need WinXP or higher, and Mac users will need an Intel-based machine running at least OS 10.4.
As far as the browser is concerned, the new features are supported in Chrome (duh), as well as Firefox versions 2.0 and higher, Internet Explorer 7 and up, and Safari 3.0.
What are you waiting for? Download the plug-in and and start voice/video chatting!

This is a human right to know, but the government and related department never educate the public, therefore we have to rescue ourselves. Remember.

With more and more milk products from China and Taiwan having problem. We really got to check where the things are produced. Here is a way to differentiate Taiwan made products and China made products : by looking at first three digits of its Bar Code.

If the 1st 3 digits are 690, 691 or 692 - China made
If the 1st 3 digits are 471 - Taiwan made

So please spread the words to everyone......

Nowadays, China businessmen know the consumers do not prefer products "made in china", so they won't show made from which country.
However, you may now refer to the barcodes, if the first 3 digits is 690-692 then it is made in China .

Global Layoff

Indian IT market

The economic slowdown has started to squeeze the technology sector. So far this has not led to wide-scale job cuts, but a slowing demand for computers and other electronics may already be weighing on some payrolls.

The global recessionary trends have affected the young employees of the Indian software industry. Various companies are cutting variable pays. TCS is the first company in doing so

.

There is a fear that TCS-- which last resorted to such a step in the third quarter of 2007-08 -- may not pay employees upwards of trainees a portion of their variable pay for the second quarter of 2008-09 as part of an austerity measure forced by the global financial meltdown.

This scenario is not in the IT sector but it is affecting Banking , Financial and Aviation sector also. Today Jet Airways layoff 850 Flight Attendants which is the largest lay-off in the history of Indian aviation .

Pepsico planning to cut 3300 jobs world wide.

Nissan also planning to cut 1680 jobs and Daimler 3500.

The nightmare on Wall Street has for the first time many awakened many Indians to economic uncertainties.

Particularly those who have never seen a sustained bear phase in their career. Job insecurity has crept in, with many losing sleep over their future prospects.

But in India the rights of employees are well defined and well-guarded

“Employees need to be aware of the fact that their employer cannot terminate their services without serving the necessary notice (as mentioned in the employment contract) or compensating for the salary in lieu of that period . Some MNCs also have the practice of offering a severance package to the employees being retrenched which, depending on their policies, could amount to 3-6 months’ salary.”

“In case of any conflict between the provisions of the applicable labour laws and those contained in the employment contract or employee handbook, the provisions that are more favourable to the employees will prevail ,”

In the event of winding up of a company, the Companies Act, 1956 ensures that employees’ dues (along with the company’s tax liabilities) are given the first charge over the assets of the company, prior to settlement of other creditors’ dues.
